Need an employee ID card system? No Problem!

If you’re in the market for an employee ID card system, you don’t need to spend thousands of dollars.  Trust me, I just recently helped a friend setup such a system at his office, and did a ton of research to find the one that was easiest to use and economical.

ID Card WorkshopID Card Workshop is a membership management and ID card software that runs on Windows and supports a bunch of different databases.   It’s easy to setup, simple to use, allows you to insert whatever images, logos, barcodes, etc. you desire, and best of all … is quite affordable.

Here’s how easy it is to add an employee into the system:

  1. Open the “Card Issuing Center” tool.
  2. Enter details about your employee (name, phone #, email, etc.).
  3. Take the employee’s picture using a webcam.
  4. Print their ID card.

And then, when they show up for work, to sign them in:

  1. Open the “Records Seeker” tool.
  2. Scan their ID card by using a barcode scanner.
  3. Done!

This video that shows how easy it is to use the “Card Designer” app:

What about other types of cards?

Not to worry.  ID Card Workshop allows you to design and print everything from employee badges, loyalty cards, membership cards, VIP cards, and much more.  It even comes with quite a few templates and samples, so you don’t need to be a graphics design in order to make impressive-looking cards.

How secure are the cards?  Is it easy to clone them?

You’d have to be pretty talented hacker to break the encryption on these cards.  It has built-in magnetic stripe encoding that uses the ISO/IEC 7811 standard.  All you need is a magnetic strip supported printer and you’re good-to-go.

Ok, so let’s get down to it … what does it cost?

The cool thing is, the creators of ID Card Workshop offer several different purchase options.  If you only need to use the software for a month, or even a few months, you can get a subscription license that starts at a measly $14.95/mo.  However, if you want an unlimited full license that will work forever, it’s on sale right now for only $159.95.  I’ve seen comparable systems that cost several thousand dollars.

Hopefully now you can see what ID Card Workshop is a great choice for your employee ID cards!
